The Wildcats capped off their successful season Saturday at Crawford County. Madison Cooper set the tone for the day with a solid performance. Madison ended her season with signs of returning to form. Madison took nearly two minutes off her last run at Crawford County turning in a time mirroring her class division winning race there from last season. With back to back strong races she ends her sophomore campaign on a high note to carry to track season as she will look to repeat as a regional qualifier in the 1600m. In the boys race both runners showed big improvements Saturday compared to the regular season invite at Crawford County. Sophomore Avery Capes lead the way finishing 129th overall with a time of 18:06. Avery cut a minute and twenty five seconds off his time from the regular season meet. Avery finished the season as one of the most improved runners this year and will be a key piece in the programs growth going forward. Junior Marcus Riecken also made his regional debut. Riecken finished 149th overall with a time of 18:23. That was a solid improvement of forty eight seconds over his last race there. Riecken also made a big jump in development this season as he averaged an improvement of almost a full minute on every course he ran this season compared to last season. Capes and Riecken should be poised to lead the team next season as the Cats will make a push to qualify as a team.
