The Wildcats traveled to Boonville for PAC. It was a fitting place to host conference since it was also the host of the first meet of the year. It was a true display of how much progress the teams have made when you compare week 1 times to today. With great weather for running the Cats took fully advantage of the opportunity. For the lady Wildcats Madison Cooper led the way today followed by Makayla Scheinder who turned in a season best and knocked two minutes and two seconds off her season opening time. Next was Maddie Abel who improved her Boonville course time by two minutes and fifty seconds. Right behind her was Freshman Addie Blackburn who not only set a new personal record for the fourth week in a row but also cut two minutes and ten seconds off her last race on this course. Rounding out the girls scorecard was Rachael Shockley who turned in her second best run of the year. For the boys showed strength in pack running again today. Led by Marcus Riecken who knocked one minute and seven seconds off his week 1 outing to finish 16th overall and earned himself second team all conference honors. He was followed by Jake Gross who improved one minute and three seconds to finish 28th overall. Jake's performance also earned him second team all conference honors. Next was Freshman Logan Greenwell who finished 32nd overall and a time improvement of one minute and twenty six seconds. Avery Capes fought thru some early positioning battles and despite having an early fall in the race climbed his way back to finish 35th. Finishing the scorecard for the team was Thomas Scates at 43rd and had a twenty two second improvement. Perhaps one of the most crucial performances of the day came from the sixth Wildcat to cross the line. William Lemburg finished 47th with a new personal record of almost 40 seconds. While outside of the five score positions William finished in front of North Posey's number five runner ensuring the team a ribbon and 5th place finish in PAC. Last but not least Freshman Ty Lange was the final Cat in today. Ty had the biggest jump of all of runners. Ty set a new personal record for the second week in a row. Todays run was a massive four minutes and thirty two seconds faster than his season opener. The teams will now shift their focus on next weekend as they gear up for sectionals.
