By Brent Renshaw | Oct 4, 2026 9:30 AM

Yesterday the Wildcats traveled to Terre Haute for the Nike XC Town Twlight run. This late day race is filled with races featuring athletes from five states and is a great showcase of the talent the sport has in the mid west. The Wildcats showed they are hitting their stride at just the right time as the postseason approaches. Between the two rosters the Cats turned in eight personal records and two season best performances. Leading the way yesterday was Marcus Riecken who joined the sub 18 club with a new personal record of 17:57 and a 15th overall finish. Next was Avery Capes finishing 30th overall with a new personal record of 18:20. For back to back weeks now Jake Gross has turned in a PR performance breaking the 19 min mark with a time of 18:57 and 67th overall. Logan Greenwell for the third straight week did the same. Logan continues to knock on the door of breaking the 19 minute mark with a new personal record of 19:08. Thomas Scates rounded out the boys score card by also setting a new personal record of almost 30 seconds finishing at 19:37. William Lemburg has raced his way back to form turning in a season best and was just 12 seconds shy of a new personal record. Ty Lange completed the boys entry list and for the second week in a row has turned in a new PR. The boys team had a strong showing finishing 8th in the group of 29 entries. The girls were led by Madison Cooper who had a positive outing in her return to action followed by Maddie Abel who turned in an impression season best of over 40 seconds. Addie Blackburn was next to cross the line and for the third week in a row delivered a personal record time. Makayla Scheinder turned in a gritty run despite not feeling well and was followed by Rachael Shockley who set a new personal record improving her time by almost two minutes. Both teams look to carry that momentum the PAC next week when they travel to Boonville.
