Senior Wildcat golfer Libby Reese travelled to Terre Haute to compete at Hulman Links in Terre Haute Friday for this year’s Regional. Libby began her round on the front 9 with an exceptional 4 over par 40. Teeing off on the back 9, she struggled with two straight double bogeys on 10 and 11 but bounced back with a strong par save on 12. Reese later birdied two straight holes on 15 and 16, continuing her momentum as she ended with a 6 over 42 on the more difficult back nine. Her score of 82 was the 5th best round of 95 competitors for the day, just 3 strokes behind the individual regional champion Layna Patel of Castle who shot 79. Libby’s preperation, confidence, and poise kept her in the round and earned her the first individual qualifier position. She will travel to Lafayette for the IHSAA State Finals at the Battleground Golf Club on October 2nd and 3rd. Congratulations to Libby and best of luck at State!
