The Mt.Vernon Boys Golf Team shot a season best 321 to finish 6th in the difficult Evansville Sectional. The Wildcats were paired in the early groups and came out firing to prove they were one of the better teams in the field. Brennan Austin had a career round of Par 71 to earn a trip to the Country Oaks Regional next Thursday. He also had an overall top 5 finish for the day. Mt. Vernon had a solid round from Senior Nathan Craig with an 82. This was his best round of the season and improved 2 strokes over last year. Jake Carlisle had a solid 83 and Freshman Chase Byerly an 85. Castle 283 1st Memorial 302 2nd Boonville 306 3ed North 310 4th Mater Dei 319 5th Mt. Vernon 321 6th Regional tee times will be announced once all sectionals are completed next Monday.
