Mount Vernon High School

The Mt. Vernon boys’ soccer team suffered a disappointing loss on Tuesday evening to county rival North Posey. The Vikings scored the first goal of the game early off of some miscommunication from Mt. Vernon on a corner kick. The Wildcats found themselves trailing as they have many times already this season. Unfortunately this time Mt. Vernon couldn’t claw their way back. The game remained 1-0 until halftime. After the break the score stayed the same until the Vikings added a second goal midway through. Mt. Vernon kept pushing but couldn’t break through the Viking defense. The game was senior night for the Wildcats who recognized six seniors: Mack Conyers, Grant Doherty, Logan Dutkiewicz, Landon Mitchell, Aiden Paul and Aaron Weis. The Wildcats will look to rebound on Thursday when they travel to Boonville.
