The Wildcats Beat Boonville Pioneers 5-3 to move to 4 and 1 on the season. The Wildcats scored one run in the bottom of the first on a solo home run to left field by Easton Hall. Mt. Vernon took the lead, 4-2, in the bottom of the fourth thanks to singles by Logan Clowers, and Jackson Meinschein. Klayton Hamilton earned the win. The starting pitcher surrendered two hits and two runs (zero earned) over four innings, striking out three and walking four. Bryce Bourne collected the save. Levi Embrey tossed two innings of scoreless ball in relief. The right-handed pitcher allowed two hits, striking out one and walking one. Logan Clowers provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led the Wildcats with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-3 on the day and added two stolen bases. Mt. Vernon Varsity Wildcat will travel to Washington Varsity Hatchets for their next game on Tuesday.
